​Mission:

The Byron School District Libraries strive to create an inclusive experience in a dynamic learning environment that fosters a love for reading, supports a desire for knowledge, and promotes a sense of belonging for all who enter.
In support of our district's mission, "To Develop 21st Century Community-Minded Learners" our libraries will:
  • Allow equal and easy access to a variety of resources and materials that are relevant, innovative, and rich in technology
  • Develop diverse collections that range in reading levels and support curriculum
  • Promote a culture of learning that supports 21st Century Skills
  • Encourage students to take an active role in their education

Objectives for Library Materials

  • Supplement and enrich curriculum
  • Introduce various and academically rigorous ideas
  • Provide information that is accurate, modern, and engaging 
  • Respond to and uplift the thoughts of our patrons
  • Support a wide variety of library and district programs: Book clubs, Film club, author events, and reading challenges
  • Promote diversity and a global view by representing various perspectives
  • Enable our patrons to explore any curiosity, and to expand their intellectual horizons

Catalogue Navigation Demonstration

This Demo is currently in production. As soon as it is done,
a video will be embedded here. The demonstration will explain
how to navigate our catalogue through Destiny Discover for
each of our district's libraries.

As a parent, you have the right to limit your student's access to library resources and materials. If you have questions or concerns about materials your student has access to or how to restrict access, please contact the district librarian, Ms. Jill Smith.

Library policies are developed using information from the Byron Board of Education as well as state standards and various library professional organizations, resources, and legal documents.
